Advocating for $200 Million Investment in Black-led Organizations

The Need for Greater Support for Black-serving Charities.

Liban Abokor, a board member of the Foundation for Black Communities, is advocating for greater financial investment in Black-led, Black-serving organizations. The Foundation has already been selected to provide direct funding to such organizations through the Investment Readiness Program and is in the running for a $200 million endowment. This call for increased funding comes amidst a broader investigation into corporate foundations’ donations to Black communities following George Floyd’s murder. As Black voices continue to be amplified, Abokor’s call to action serves as a crucial reminder of the ongoing need for systemic change and support for underrepresented communities.
